It's strange to think just how quickly the latest James Bond adventure has come around. Granted it's actually been three years since Skyfall was on our screens, but since the few official details on Bond 24 have come to light, it's been a quick ride. Casting, titles, and poster images have all come to light with a steady pace, and now the first teaser trailer has arrived. Ladies and gentelmen, the age of SPECTRE is nigh.
In the film, Bond receives a cryptic message from an unlikely source, a message that begins the chain of events that will bring the operative face-to-face with the sinister organisation known only as SPECTRE. With M waging the political wars that threaten the very existence of MI6, Bond digs further into the dark heart of SPECTRE, not only endangering his life, but uncovering terrible secrets and uneasy truths that could shake what he believed he was protecting.
Director Sam Mendes returns to call the shots on Spectre, and from the look of the trailer, he's found himself in a particularly ominous mood. The teaser is, of course, light on details, but what we do get is look at some of locations from the shoot, as well as some of the sinister interiors. A funeral, a seemingly abandoned house, and a wonderfully grim looking conference room where each attendee rests in shadow. We don't see anything of Ralph Fiennes, Ben Wishaw or henchman Dave Bautista, though we do get a glimpse of the likes of Naomie Harris, Monica Belluci and the mighty Christoph Waltz.
Yes, it's all very slight and not much is really revealed, but considering the enormity of the project, the secrecy of the world, and the fact that it's still filming, this trailer for Spectre already looks pretty intriguing.
Spectre will his cinemas later this year.
