However Warner Brothers are set to release a new disaster movie, San Andreas. After a devastating earthquake hits California ,Ray (Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson), a Los Angeles Fire Department rescue helicopter pilot and his ex wife Emma (Carla Gugino) head to San Francisco to find their daughter Blake (Alexandra Daddario). The earthquake was caused by the San Andreas fault line ripping over, a natural disaster that may well one day occur as the fault line has caused many major earthquakes in the past.
Warner Brothers have released a new clip for the film, with Emma trying to escape the falling buildings around her and Ray in his helicopter trying to save her. As she runs across the devastating debris, a nearby skyscraper begins to fall in her direction, and she scrambles, encouraged by Ray, to try and make it to the helicopter. The clip ends before we get to see what happens to Emma, however if you do want to know what happens, you see it in the trailer.
San Andreas does have a brilliant cast and the special effects and CGI we have seen so far are amazing. But does that mean that it is going to be any better than all of the other Disaster movies that we have seen over the years? Better than Independence Day, Titanic, Armageddon, Twister, The Day After Tomorrow, 2012, Planet of the Apes or more recently The Impossible? It has a lot to beat.
Well, we will all find out soon enough as it’s set for UK cinematic release on the 29th of May.
