Yet somehow, it has taken someone this long to stick him in a movie about zombies?
Putting Schwarzenegger in a zombie movie seemed pretty much like a no-brainer! Big Arnie crashing in to save the day like any action hero from the 80s would do, with explosions and lots of guns! Right.... right? Well, no, not really. Maggie, the movie in question seems to follow in the foot steps of The Walking Dead; serious, gritty and dark. There is no room for cheesy Arnie one-liners here.
When a zombie apocalypse devastates humanity, Wade (Schwarzenegger) is faced with ultimate decision when his infected daughter is released into his care, could you kill your own loved ones when the worst comes to worst?
If you're fully expecting something over-the-top and cheesy, prepared to be stunned into wide-mouthed silence because Maggie seems anything but; with what seem to be captivating performances from everyone involved, including Schwarzenegger (subdued and somber, he seems at home here), Maggie is definitely one to keep an eye out for.
With a run in the Tribeca Film Festival in April, Maggie seems set for a limited release in cinemas sometime in May.
