Ghost stories have been plaguing our generations since something bump in the middle of the night. The idea that the other side looms over us, and stalks us in the dark (or even the daylight) has been clinging to our tongues as we wag on about horror stories to scare our companions. And for generations, we’ve made hammy and pretty terrible films out of them. Every year, some “brand new” story comes to us in a wave of used backstory and tropes. This year, it’s the turn of Judas Ghost.
Judas Ghost revolves around a team of investigators named the Carnacki Institute who are top secret. When reports come from an old village hall, the team are sent to investigate. Only, the routine investigation soon develops into something more sinister and the hall closes in on all of them. Can they make it out alive?
Starring Simon Merrells, Martin Delaney and Alexander Perkins, the cast seem on high eyebrows and wide eyed alert. This looks a little tacky and completely unscary. Judas Ghost looks filled with clichés and really bad special effects. Who knows though? It could genuinely be terrifying with spooky moments and a good story. But from this end, it just looks unnecessary.
