Who'd have thunk it?
Keanu Reeves stars in one of the greatest action films of the decade. Nay, possibly one of the best films of the year. The once promising action hero star, who fell off his lofty pedestal and has struggled to earn it back, is roaring ferociously back to cinemas this April in the undeniably amazing film John Wick.
The premise sounds completely ridiculous: An ex-hitman loses his wife and, in the midst of his grief, she delivers him a puppy from beyond the grave. Only, as he begins to grow attached to the dog, a couple of thugs break into his house and kill it. Out on revenge, Wick sets the underground ablaze trying to find retribution for the dog and his honour. But trust us, as ridiculous as that sounds, the makes up for in gusto and sheer genius.
Now a brand new TV spot has come into our lives and trust us, it’s bloody brilliant. The line quipping, gun-slinging, bundle of kinetic energy looks enticing. This TV spot hits every spot sending us into a hungry frenzy. The film has balls. As does every bit of trailer goodness that comes our way. Warning: Don’t take this film too seriously though because you’ll lose the point. Instead, lose yourself in the brilliant promo footage and the subsequent film.
Because when Reeves bellows "Yeah, I'm thinking I'm back;" you'll know it deep in your soul.
