Based on a book by Hill of the same name and translated to the screen by Alexandre Aja, Horns tells the story of Ig Perish. When his girlfriend is murdered, he becomes prime suspect but he protests his innocence. However, one day, he wakes up with horns sprouting from his temples. As the rest of the town is in uproar, he finds that he can make them confess their sins which means he can outsource the killer. Can Ig solve the mystery and clear his name? Or is he damned forever?
Dependent on how you feel the film should go, it seems as though the film is telling us the killer far too early (spot him, let me know who ou think). And there is a quick glimpse to how horrifying Ig will look eventually which takes a lot of the drama from the film away. But, with an assumed forked tongue firmly placed in its dark comedy cheek, Horns looks like a riveting affair that could set Halloween a flame. Which is funny, because it is released 29th of October.
