Until now.
Fantastic Four tells the story of the creation of four new superheroes, Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human torch and The Thing. Four scientists achieve the seemingly impossible: travelling to a parallel universe. However, upon their return, they notice that they have developed new abilities that alter their physical form. It becomes their duty to save the world from Doctor Doom, a familiar enemy that so many of us recognise (it is kind of hard to forget the metal face.)
Marvel has released the full length trailer, and boy does it not disappoint. The special effects and CGI are sublime (it’s hard to not look at The Thing and not feel that tingle of anticipation run down your spine. But let’s not forget how awesome the others look too), the quick shots in the middle of the trailer really builds the anticipation and excitement, with major help from the building sound and darkness that makes you realise that they really mean business. The comical moment at the end is also nicely positioned, giving us a little break after all of that dark intensity.
It looks like this time Marvel may get it right, but of course you can’t completely judge a film just by its trailer. Yet with a top class cast, a popular group of superheroes and amazing graphics, it feels like it would be really hard to mess this one up.
Fantastic Four is set for nationwide cinematic release on the 6th of August, so if you are as excited about this film as we are, don’t worry, you don’t have long to wait.
