Adapted by Disney, from the children's book of the same name, the clip comes complete with a short introduction from Judith Viorst, the book's author. Alexander and the Terrible (just to keep it short and sweet because the title is oh so very long) follows the titular character of Alexander as he and his family seem to be going through the worst day imaginable.
The clip seems to highlight just how terrible things seem to turn out for Alexander and his family. It starts out well enough, Alexander's dad (Steve Carell) is showing off at a Japanese restaurant, catching food in his mouth which is being flung at him by a chef. He manages to end his little stunt to rapturous applause from the entire restaurant, but it quickly grows quiet when his dad manages to set his shirt sleeves on fire.
Queue his dad running around, trying to find a way to put out the quickly growing fire on his sleeves. Pretty bad luck right? Yeah.
Starring Ed Oxenbould as Alexander and co-starring Steve Carell, Jennifer Garner, Dylan Minnette and Kerris Dorsey, Alexander, and the Terrible is due for release in cinemas nationwide on the 24th of October.
