This scene features Williams as the voice of Dennis, the loyal pet dog of a character played by the brilliant Simon Pegg. They are able to interact thanks to Pegg’s character’s ability to make absolutely anything possible through, as of yet, unexplained means. This clip clearly defines the foundation point by which this relationship starts in the film and it also gives us an idea of how Pegg’s character will be. He’s smart yet visually appears a bit up himself in contrast to the scruffy Dennis whose quite a simple dog enjoying the pleasures of biscuits and being with his owner. The scene works with Williams using the dialogue given and making it match the character of a domesticated pet fit perfectly. Whilst it’s incredibly sad Williams is no longer with us, this could be the film that’ll perfectly round off his career in his absence.
On a less serious note: hearing Williams say the word shagging is really amusing.
