Hello, I’m Alex and I’m a Geek, obviously, but I’m also a tight wad. I never spend money if I can avoid it, I loathe spending more than I need to and over the years I've come up with a few ways and tips to help save you a few quid.
So, here’s my first tip. You’re looking at a DVD or a CD, you've found something online you’re thinking about buying, you've checked Amazon and all the normal choices, but stop, before you order, check with Google.

Enter what you want to buy, this will be for my example “Dara Obrien The Live collection” At Amazon this is currently £16.96 with free delivery. It’s a good price for three DVD’s. Now select Sort By and change it to “Price : Low to High”. You’re now looking at a page, of probably complete rubbish, but scroll through it, until you see what you’re looking for, because look what I’ve found from Sainsbury’s Entertainment.
£11.99, that’s a saving of nearly a fiver, which might not be a lot, but all adds up!
Now in fairness I’ve found a site which I know I can trust, Sainsbury’s. So how do you know If you can trust the site with the cheapest price? We do live in an age where you have to be incredibly careful with your online details, so I’ll show you how you know you can trust a site...

First off, Pay by PayPal if you can, that’s the safest way to order from these sites, your details are protected and you are protected against anything going wrong with the sale. If you don’t have a PayPal account set one up, it’s free.
Not everywhere accepts PayPal, so if somewhere doesn’t, you know you can trust them with your card details if they are a secure site, you know they are a secure site if you see this Green Padlock.

If you see the Green Padlock, you can trust the site. If you don’t, see it, don’t buy it. (Note, this is where the padlock is placed in Google Chrome, other browsers may place the padlock in different areas)
I must warn you however, some online shops do have postage charges, but you can find these out really easily, usually it will say Free Delivery on the item page anyway.
So hopefully, with this, you should be able to save a little cash on all your online purchases, or at least check you’re getting it for the best possible price!
Until next time, keep saving!
