The first teaser trailer for Teen Wolf Season Four has landed, and what it lacks in details over what’s to come in the next season, it more than makes up for in symbolism and this show’s famed use of slow-motion.
The first teaser trailer for Teen Wolf Season Four has landed, and what it lacks in details over what’s to come in the next season, it more than makes up for in symbolism and this show’s famed use of slow-motion.
The trailer sees Teen Wolf’s four surviving leads: Scott, Stiles, Derek and Lydia, emerging from a sea of ashes. As they dig their way out, we see a crossbow fall to the floor, a nod perhaps to their fallen comrade, hunter Allison Argent. Allison was killed in the penultimate episode of season three, and if this inclusion in the trailer is anything to go by, the ramifications of her death will continue to be felt. The four later break into a run, again in slow-motion, while the tag-line for season four “CAN’T GO BACK” flashes up on the screen. What this means for the season will probably become apparent as further trailers premiere, leading up to the show’s June 23rd return.
Notably absent from the trailer are the characters of Kira Yukimura and Malia Tate, both supporting characters in season three who are being bumped up to main cast in season four. However, not surprising is the absence of Daniel Sharman’s Isaac Lahey. Last seen leaving for France with the grieving Chris Argent, Isaac will not be returning in season four, due to Sharman’s casting in The Originals, although we cannot rule out an appearance from Sharman in the future.
Teen Wolf are known at this point for creating trailers that look awesome, but reveal very little about the details of what’s to come. And this one is open to interpretation.
