The mid-season finale of The 100 was a show stopper, with plenty of action and sadness throughout. Producer Jason Rothenberg has proved that he doesn’t mind killing a few important characters, starting early on with Willis, and the events of the previous episode have shown he isn’t afraid of continuing that trend.
The show, as usual, balances between the different settings of the show: Mount Weather, Camp Jaha and the Grounders camp. Monty and Jasper’s attempt to escape fits snugly besides Clarke’s journey to free them, and it is good to see both plots moving along nicely. The events at Mount Weather are tense, maintaining a forbidding atmosphere filled with plenty of moments to jump at, whereas back at the Grounders camp everyone is rather solemn and discussing various tactics.
We also get to see the set of the Grounders camp. It feels Game of Thrones-esque with its grand dining hall and medieval torturing. Eliza Taylor does a great job with portraying how much Clarke is struggling with that she has done, and we can really feel Raven’s pain through Lindsey Morgan’s acting. We get a good bit of tension, a few blades raised, a fair few words said. Of course, the truce was never going to be plain sailing.
"Remember Me" has been a great episode for The 100 to come back with. We see a lot of drama, a lot of panic, great plot development and, as always, wonderful acting. Plus, you just can’t help loving the wonderful detail and diversity of the sets. You go from sterile rooms in the mountain to camps in the forest, to rooms filled with old paintings. It’s fantastic.
