This episode is very much based around Monroe and Rosalee, two of the shows best characters. Their plight is both hilarious and terrifying as Rosalee prepares to meets Monroe’s parents.
Nick and Hank are on a new homicide case which is gruesome and mirrors a specific character in the Sword of Truth book series. These particular murders were disgusting and disturbing whilst Sergeant Wu makes inappropriate jokes. For such a small role, Wu really helps to tie the show together.
Juliet is still learning about Nick’s life. It sometimes feels like she is starting to become useless and forgotten, so when the writers remember her, they fit her into the script in a way that feels forced and pointless. This week, they revisited a scenario from the start of the season so that Juliet had something to do. She has had some badass roles these past few weeks and showed that she could look after herself. It seemed odd that she was such a good fighter though.
Rosalee had a great costume change. She usually dresses quite old fashioned and frumpy, which is a shame for such a beautiful woman. This time, she was given a stunning black lace skater dress which suited her and should be used for the basis of a new wardrobe!
This has been the best episode in season three so far. The season has been mostly fillers up until now but this seems to be the turning point to focus on the story more. When Grimm focuses on the story, it is a fantastic show so hopefully this is what they are going to start doing again.
