There are a few plot-lines that Gotham is riding on to get itself through this series. The most obvious one, character development or should we say the inevitable formation of future heroes and villains we see before us. Arguably, the ongoing cat and mouse game with all the gangsters in town is helping this one along, however the big question on everyone’s mind (even though it has been ignored for half the season) is who killed the Wayne’s.
Oh Penguin, when are going to learn that fraternising with the opposition isn’t going to get you anywhere in Gotham? After thinking that Fish Mooney has successfully been dealt with things take a U-Turn when it comes to Oswald and Maroni’s working relationship. Meanwhile, both Bullock and Gordon are trying their luck with the ladies this week and when it comes to trying, Gordon has been trying since the get go to solve the Wayne murder case, with his only lead being Selina Kyle. However, that lead didn’t exactly turn out the way it was supposed to, leaving Bruce feeling completely and utterly let down by not only a friend but the entire police department.
A much more engaging episode than last week's, yet Gotham still has a long way to go to live up to everyone’s expectations. There is a lack of variety and the main characters need to be placed in a situation we haven’t seen them in before, instead of just chilling out, or in this case making out at the police station! Not to say that The Fearsome Dr. Crane doesn’t have its high points, it simply needs to be taken up a notch to really give audiences what they want. Come on writers – show us what you made of!
