The second season of Game of Thrones is released on DVD today, with season 3 beginning April 1st (trailer deconstruction coming soon).

King Joffrey Baratheon (the first of his name and, hopefully, the last) abandoned his plans to wed Sansa Stark and is now arranged to marry Maergery Tyrell in order to form an alliance between the their house and the throne.
In the North, Robb Stark and his bannermen grew ever closer to winning their war against the forces of Lord Tywin Lannister, who left his post at Harrenhal and finally got around to visiting his grandson Joffrey back in the capital, taking up position as Hand. Arya Stark escaped the clutches of the Lannisters at their garrison in the aforementioned fortress and now she, Gendry and Hot Pie are riding towards the Trident and the contrasting safety of Riverrun, from whereabouts Jaime Lannister was released, bound for King’s Landing.
Finally, beyond the Wall, and to mark the most chilling event of season two, White Walkers began marching across the frozen wastes for the first time in nearly one thousand years and poor old Sam Tarly got himself up a certain creek without even the most rudimentary of paddles.
