Things are getting tense in the Constantine camp. The viewing figures aren’t up to scratch according to NBC (I have no idea if they’re including the Amazon Instant Views, since I’m probably boosting them by a few hundred points with that!) but the rumours are flying around about whether or not the series will be cancelled before they finish airing the remaining six episodes of this series. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, that Angélica Celaya is contracted for at least fifteen episodes (two more than this season) and Daniel Cerone (the showrunner) has stated similar.
It’s not the most positive news for the show… But there’s still hope! Everyone watch this fantastic show and keep it alive!
The problem with this (and many other supernatural shows) is that, if something in the world seems bad, it almost certainly is. Such was the case of the Macguffin powering the storyline, an angel feather. The twist of the episode was done well, with great performances from Megan West and Harold Perrineau, but it was a little too obvious to keep the tension ramped up so high throughout the rest of the episode.
This week’s episode also helped to build the tension between Constantine and Zed, whilst adding a little bit more chemistry between the actors. It’s slowly beginning to build up to something more between the two, and with this week’s cliffhanger ending and next week being the start of a two part storyline, which seems to be looking a little more into Zed’s mysterious past, how can you not want this show to continue?
