Folks we have survived the wait! Pats on the back all round. The time has come to return to Storybrooke, our favourite fairytale town in Maine, following the happy conclusion to the wintery tension introduced by two snow queens. But let’s first remind ourselves of the most recent goings-on… by The I'm With Geek TV Team Another year has come and gone, and with it some fantastic TV series. Join the IWG TV Team as they pick their favourites of the past 365 days! by Julia Lawson Curses. Raising all sorts of magical drama in little towns filled with fairytale characters relating to personal relationships, heart ripping and ominous weather formations since ONCE’s debut four seasons ago. After yet another curse related build up we find ourselves stuck in a bit of rut: no Frozen themed wedding, no Rumplestiltskin led revolution and no abundance of ice queen sundaes for everyone. But there is always more to ONCE than ice cream. by Julia Lawson Well that was intense! The penultimate episode to the Frozen story arc began to draw in all the loose ends, reuniting Anna and Elsa, seeing Rumplestiltskin return to his manipulative ways, and learning that pirates are better than wizards as the spell of shattered sight curse clouds move towards the town. Oh and we got a sneak preview into Frozen 2… sort of. by Julia Lawson Jiminy Cricket! After two hours of intense ONCE storytelling, you most certainly are entitled to demand tea, biscuits and a trip to the Ice Queen Parlour (or the freezer.. your call). The double episode threw us around Arendelle, The Enchanted Forest, The Snow Queen’s lair, Storybrooke and back again so many times that there is a high risk of whiplash, and potential frostbite. Buckle down and let’s revisit the big events. by Julia Lawson This episode gave us an insight into the Snow Queen’s past (no hints in the title you’ll notice). Other than that it provided some interesting hints towards the events of next week’s double episode, but nothing to blow your socks off. Unless you include Robin and Regina’s passionate reunion that is… by Julia Lawson In a flurry of ice and ‘stress’ snow clouds, ONCE is back. Finally. The Frozen storyline is well underway as is the running campaign ‘Happy Endings for Villains’. The first episode of Season Four continues immediately after the dramatic finale post-Wicked Witch of the West, time portal, Rumbelle’s wedding, Maid Marion's love triangle and Elsa’s arrival in Storybrooke. Are you ready to dive back in? by Julia Lawson Behind the scenes at I’m With Geek there has been some rumbling… OUAT’s race for the ‘Outstanding Costumes for a Series – 2014’ category at the Emmys could feature some additional hurdles thanks to Game of Thrones and Downton Abbey. But to put fact behind the wild claims of fairytale costume greatness, here are some of the top costume moments over the past four seasons of OUAT brimming with anticipation of the fantastic wardrobes to follow. by Julia Lawson We have ourselves an amazing show. I know it. You know it. And now the Emmy nominations know it too. ABC’s Once Upon a Time has finally received recognition for the class and intricate details supporting the fairytale rewrites through its nomination for the ‘Outstanding Costumes for a Series – 2014’ category. Congratulations to all involved… but who stands in OUAT’s way to costume victory? And can they possibly beat the Evil Queen’s winter wardrobe? by Julia Lawson The emotional rollercoaster that was the Once Upon A Time season finale blew us all for six. Some people have been left in a state of shock caused by the unprecedented explosion of fairytale drama and the aftermath in Storybrooke; I know I was one of them. But remembering back through the swirling vortex that was the finale, there were several twists which came a bit out of the blue… Anyone else wondering about the Snow Queen? |
