As a single male, I think I am biologically programmed to detest this waste of airtime. So what is Loose Women? Loose Women is a lunchtime topical show, where a group of four interchangeable middle-aged women interview C-list celebrities and “discuss the day’s topics”. So why am I so opposed to this show?

As a single male, I think I am biologically programmed to detest this waste of airtime. So what is Loose Women? Loose Women is a lunchtime topical show, where a group of four interchangeable middle-aged women interview C-list celebrities and “discuss the day’s topics”. So why am I so opposed to this show? By Tom Sams Weirdly, I’ve been watching a lot more American television than British television recently. Doing so, I’ve managed to discover some cult TV shows that have zero audience in my native England. I’m sure our foreign readers will agree that it’s usually pretty difficult to ignore some American shows, but some of them really do slip by the radar, more often than not it’s down to the fact that they’re broadcast on unknown, crappy channels (such as Channel 5). By Christian Kern Finally, this Whovian has watched, in my opinion, a real episode of Doctor Who for the first time in years since Steven Moffat took over Production of the show. Cold War took some of the finest aspects of the last 50 years of Who and molded it into a well crafted and wonderfully executed episode. It wasn't the best story, but it was enjoyable and more than anything else, it served a purpose - it reintroduced the terrifying Ice Warriors! By Matthew Battles Geeks all over the UK rejoice - Once Upon a Time is back on our screens with a brand new series! You can head back to the quaint town of Storybrooke every Sunday on Channel 4 and I’m With Geek will be there every step of the way! By William John This week's Doctor Who episode features the long awaited return of some classic villains, the Ice Warriors! "The Doctor and Clara land on a damaged Russian Submarine in 1983 as it spirals out of control into the ocean depths. An alien creature is loose on board, having escaped from a block of Arctic ice. With tempers flaring and a cargo of nuclear weapons on board, it’s not just the crew but the whole of humanity at stake!" By Christian Kern The next episode of Doctor Who, Cold War looms on the horizon, featuring the return of the Ice Warriors who have not been seen on screen since 1974! We at I’m With Geek thought it would be fun to give a small treatise on these fantastic unsung monsters of Doctor Who legend. The Ice Warriors were an attempt to create a new recurring monster for the show. When the fourth season of the classic series ended, the production team felt something else outside of Daleks and Cybermen were needed. The entire second Doctor era tried hard to capitalize on the various alien threats, hence why it is more commonly referred to as the Monster Era. By Tom Sams James Bond is an asshole, just think about it. He’s misogynistic, an alcoholic (how many martinis can one man stomach?), he uses women and discards them like they’re chewed gum, and yet somehow everybody thinks of Bond as a hero figure. Throughout 23 movies, we still haven’t really clocked on to the fact that in real life, nobody would like Bond and his teammates would not get on with him. Well, that embodiment is essentially Sterling Archer, the titular character of Archer, FX’s animated comedy show that features a multitude of characters within ISIS, a fictional spy agency. By Jamie Kennett Being that there are so many characters in this superb series, it was clearly hard for the writers to cram all of the main ones into the first episode of this season. Many people, me included, were a tad disappointed at the lack of Jaime Lannister and Arya Stark in the premiere. These two have some of the most interesting stories at the moment, which may explain why they were left on the shelf for this week instead. That being said, they still weren’t given as much screen time as they were deserved because a whole host of other characters had to be given some attention as well. Things are starting to kick off all over Westeros once again, so for those who haven’t seen episode two yet, -or for those who have and are just curious as to what The Internet has to say about it-, here’s what’s happened this week (and what I have to say about it). By Robbie Jones Not everyone likes change; whether it be a family member who moves away, or growing apart from a friend, or if you’re a geek like us, when our favourite TV shows replace its lead cast. By Matthew Battles The latest instalment of Doctor Who shows our enigmatic new companion, Clara Oswin stepping out onto her first, of many I’m sure, alien landscapes but, before I get into that, is it safe to say that our good Doctor is getting just a little bit weird? Or weirder than usual I should say. |
