Have you ever seen a trailer for a television show that is dripping with pure tantalising ecstasy? So much so that it takes your breath away, curls up in your insides and has you grabbing the hand of the nearest friend in pain filled glee. No? Then behold, the new trailer for Hannibal Season Three! And once you’ve cleaned yourself up from the intensely beautiful, exquisite horrifying and outstandingly perfect trailer, it’s not time to recover from Season Two’s whopping finale!! by Leah Stone The mid-season finale of The 100 was a show stopper, with plenty of action and sadness throughout. Producer Jason Rothenberg has proved that he doesn’t mind killing a few important characters, starting early on with Willis, and the events of the previous episode have shown he isn’t afraid of continuing that trend. by Cookie N Screen Ryan Murphy: a man with great ideas but absolutely no focus. There is no denying that he has the motivation to create some different and unique television shows. But when it comes to mid-point, in either a particular season or a perhaps the show as a whole, it just disappears and becomes a ludicrous bunch of episodes that aren’t tied down. American Horror Story: Freak Show started off with a great amount of promise. Only, like watching a mouse in a glue trap, it refuses to accept its fate but doesn’t get far. Probably the worst in the AHS anthologies and after a mere thirteen episodes, Freak Show closed its curtains in the aptly named Curtain Call. by Catherine Wignall Supernatural’s back, and it’s throwing itself full force into following Dean and Mark of Cain it’s about time too, as the boys’ mostly casual attitude towards the Mark during the previous episodes has left a lot to be desired at times. Dean’s massacre during the mid-season finale forced things to a head, and now it finally feels like the story is getting going. by Graham Osborne We truly are in an era of adaptations. The Marvel Cinematic has set up the dominoes and given us a grand total of at least 30 films featuring all of our favourite superheroes between now and 2020. At the same time, Hannibal and Fargo are taking their silver screen hits and condensing them down into weekly serials that manage to capture the spirit of the original, whilst telling a different story and (in the case of Fargo) bringing in all new characters. 12 Monkeys follows on in the same vein, as we are shown a new version of Terry Gilliam’s 1995 time-travelling epic. Returning for a new and exciting second season the sexy, action-packed thriller BANSHEE is back – with more twists and turns than ever. From executive producer Alan Ball, award-winning creator of True Blood, the second season of BANSHEE will be released on Blu-ray™ and DVD on 26th January 2015, packed full of bonus content including deleted scenes and audio commentaries. Season Two is also now available to own and watch instantly via blinkbox courtesy of HBO Home Entertainment. by Cookie N Screen I’m currently curled up under my sheet, with mascara streaming down my face and blonde curtains dancing around my eyes as I wail into my camera phone; “leave Ellie alone.” It’s been a while since a television show has given one of the most impressive characters that you just want to take down the pub, buy a few glasses of wine and give her a massive hug. Though this is Broadchurch and your favourite character (or unassuming) could come out of the woodwork and say “oh, I’ve slaughtered an entire orphanage,” it seems that Ellie Miller is our main favourite. And the only one who gets all of the crap. by Gloria Daniels-Moss “The cupcake is sweet, the bullet is deadly. A beautiful woman is a dangerous thing.” After how many episodes we have had from the first series of Gotham, 11 to be exact, the feisty mean machine that is Fish Mooney has finally decided to make her move on Falcone. However, her well thought-out plan doesn’t go as smoothly as she would have hoped. In the 12th instalment titled What the Little Bird Told Him, the crime-ridden streets of Gotham are threatened with the electrical inventions of Arkham Asylum escapee, maniacal madman Jack Gruber (Christoper Heyerdahl). by Graham Osborne Finally returning after the Christmas break (it seems such a long time ago now), Constantine is back for the second part of its first (and quite likely only) season. It’s been a bit of a bumpy ride, with low ratings and occasional duff episodes holding it back, but NBC have brought it back in an earlier time slot, though whether to try and save the show, or use it as proof it that no one watches it at any time of day, remains to be seen. by Gemma Williams There’s only one week left of Galavant-y goodness until the end of season one! The episodes have come and gone too fast and it will be a shame to see it go. This week’s episodes were game changers with a lot of character development and potential for a second season (hopefully) and sets up nicely for the season finale. |
