Nearly eleven million people can’t be wrong: science can be really, really cool. That’s how many people have ‘liked’ the phenomenal Facebook page ‘I F**king Love Science’, created by Elise Andrew, a British biology student, three years ago. The page combines a healthy mix of fact and humor, introducing science in a fun way to those who may have found it dry. Now, a recent announcement says that fans of the page will soon have another avenue to enjoy this fresh approach on one of their favorite subjects.

The page combines a healthy mix of fact and humor, introducing science in a fun way to those who may have found it dry. Now, a recent announcement says that fans of the page will soon have another avenue to enjoy this fresh approach on one of their favorite subjects.
The Science Channel has greenlit a new series based on the page, to be executive produced by Craig Ferguson (known to many as the host of the ‘Late Late Show’) and will feature Ms. Andrew as a consulting producer. Ferguson broke the news on Saturday in a videotaped message that debuted at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas, saying,
“Science has a naughty secret — it's that all things are connected. And this show is going to explore the randomness of science. Think of it as a late night Google search that goes a hundred pages deep until things get weird — and then you just keep going. And there is no better partner for this kind of smart entertainment like Science Channel and Elise.”
Ms. Andrew also noted her enthusiasm for the project, adding,
“When I created my Facebook page three years ago I never could have imagined that it would resonate with a worldwide audience of 11 million followers. This partnership with Craig and Science Channel is an exciting new venture that I hope will encourage more people to embrace the amazing, wonderful world of science.”
‘I F**king Love Science’ will feature an hour of various scientific facts and oddities through live-action, animated, and re-created experiments, to break down how science can connect everything to each other. It is produced by Green Mountain Productions and Karga7 Productions. An official host of the show has not yet been announced. It is expected to debut in late 2014.
