Starring Miles Teller and J.K. Simmons, Whiplash revolves around a prodigious drummer, Andrew Neyman, who is selected to appear in Terence Fletchers orchestra and school, performing alongside some of the best talents around. However, the tensions mount when he realises that not only is Fletcher tough, he is borderline abusive. Clashing between his ambition to be one of the most talented musicians and the suffering during the tutelage of his director, Neyman must battle through obstacles to reach his goals.
This brand new international trailer comes roaring into prominence here. The violence behind Fletcher’s teachings are stunningly portrayed in J.K. Simmons role, providing a step for him to leave the Juno shadows behind. Teller, an effervescent and rising star, excels as he receives the sharp end of his teacher’s verbal abuse and pushes himself beyond pain to succeed. There is toil and trouble beneath the film hear and it looks brilliant, already achieving high acclaim thanks to Cannes and Sundance.
Whiplash is out October 10th in the USA whilst a UK release date has yet to be announced.
