Pointless sequels make money.
Yes, we have another “sequel we didn’t need but still got before The Incredibles 2” and this time it’s the sequel to The Woman in Black, the overrated 2011 horror film based on the book of the same name (though the play of this book is far more well known and renowned these days, even though that’s quite overrated too). Now, I know what you’re thinking “Aasequel to The Woman in Black? Well that’s just downright stupid!” but let me tell you now.....You’re right.
40 years after the first haunting at Eel Marsh House, a group of children evacuated from World War 2 arrive, awakening the house’s darkest inhabitant. Not like you’d know that from the trailer. In fact, you wouldn’t know anything from the trailer. It’s so ridiculously dark that nothing can actually be seen, which may be a common criticism should the film be like that consistently.
No doubt it’ll shock the easily scared film viewers, but The Woman in Black: Angel of Death will most likely be a culmination of clichés and identical rip offs from the first one. It may not be likely, but one can only hope that the film drops dead at the box office.
