Ted 2 revolves around the titular cuddly bear that came to life in the first series continue his life as “normally” as possible. That means getting married to his gorgeous wife Tami-Lynn and the pair hoping to become parents. However, Ted is not exactly filled with sperm and fluff doesn’t produce babies. Asking his good old friend Mark Wahlberg (John), it brings his ability to parent into contention as he is not a human. So Ted lawyers up and an epic court case ensues.
It’s like a crude version of Bi-Centennial Man or Miracle on 34th Street. While that might seem like a bit of a stretch, and sure enough MacFarlane is going to throw a few punches at court-room dramas, it’s basically the same plot. You can practically smell the jabs that they are going to take, the celebrities they are going to bring down and the people who are going to appear in some sort of lazy cameo. The film is going to be one of those, “if you like it, you’ll love it” or “if you dislike it, you’ll loathe it.”
And if you fell asleep during the first film, you’ll roll your shoulders in a massive; “meh.”
Ted 2 is out June 2015
