You know what it is like. When one of your exes shows up on your doorstep with a problem, you can’t help but get pulled back into their web of issues again. But when your ex shows up, tells you about her billionaire boyfriend, his wife, her boyfriend and a plot to send him into the loony bin, you’d be a little bit suspicious to get involved again. Well, not if you are Doc Sportello, a private eye whose thrust into the antics of psychedelic sixties paranoia, love and all the hi-jinks that comes along. Tinged with hustlers, dopers and rockers, Inherent Vice is a resurgence of the sixties noir film with a dash of drug filled mayhem.
From director Paul Thomas Anderson and based on a Thomas Pynchon novel, Inherent Vice looks like a black comedy noir period romp that could tantalise audiences earlier next year. Honestly, it looks like the film that American Hustle tried to be but failed to pull off, only a million times better. So leaving it in the hands of PTA, this could be an excellent action packed adventurous film. This has all the drama and comedy that could pull audiences in and dazzle. Starring Joaquin Phoneix, Josh Brolin, Owen Wilson, Reese Witherspoon and many more, this could be an insanely great film.
