Big Hero 6 is the 54th animated feature in the Disney Classics Collection and Disney's first animated interpretation of a marvel comic. Since Disney brought Marvel, all of its films have been under the Marvel banner. With the teaser and first trailer, we were introduced to Hiro and his adorable blow-up companion Baymax.
With the new trailer. we get into the main characters back story. Baymax was in fact created by Hiros older brother Tadashi as a health care companion. After his older brothers apparent death, Baymax comes back to assist young prodigy Hiro. With his friend, Hiro stumbles upon a plot that threatens the world and assembles a team of unlikely heroes.
In this trailer, we also get a better look at San Fransokyo, where the film is set, which is a mash up of San Francisco and Toyko of the future. The animation has gone down the full CGI route like Wreck it Ralph and Tangled but has clearly drawn inspiration from its Japanese counterparts. Closer to anime than anything Disney has ever done, the animation here is striking. Still the trailer only has snippets of the films villain wearing a mask as it is our heroes that we are introduced to. But he is still a menacing figure.
The US will get the film in November but the UK and rest of the world will have to hold out till February 2015. Does this have the potential to calm Frozen fever? Either way the film looks brilliant and will hopefully be another family hit.
