There can be all kinds of pressure to "get things right" when it comes to a wedding. Everything from the venue to the meal to the band has to be handled seamlessly... and the wedding party is no exception. However, not everyone can accommodate the needs of the day, and some are left short-handed when it comes to filling out their side of room. To this end, we have Best Man, Inc., a wedding service provided by Kevin Hart in the upcoming nuptial comedy The Wedding Ringer. In it, Hart plays Jimmy, a professional Best Man, who is hired by Doug (Josh Gad), a tax attorney who will soon be married, but has no friends to call upon to be his side of the wedding party.
Naturally, shenanigans ensue.
In this clip for the film, we see the portentous beginnings of Doug's bachelor party in which two of his newly hired wedding party don masks and pull up outside of his work to kidnap him. Tied up, hooded and thrown in the back of a pickup, things go from bad to worse as Doug tumbles out and tries to escape his bonds. We don't want to jump to any conclusions about the film when it is still sight unseen on UK shores, but if this clip is any indication, we may be able to light on one thing: most characters in this film are idiots. We can only hope that balance of normalcy is found elsewhere in the film.
In order to find out, looks like we're waiting until the February 20th release date.
