Coinciding nicely with this week's release of The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, we have a nice little featurette for you all.
The follow-up film to the 2012 hit, this second outing follows most of the returning characters as they continue their lives in retirement at the Marigold hotel in India. What seems apparent is that this film focuses heavily upon the relationships between the ensemble.
Marriage, friendships and blossoming relationships - they're all on the cards. The "will they, won’t they" relationship between Bill Nighy and Judi Dench seems to be at the forefront; just because you're older doesn't discount anything. You still form the same relationships as those from your youth, they are filled with similar experiences and they are just as important.
Focusing upon the characters and allowing these relationships to develop gives the film a very human and organic feel, it's something that was achieved in the first film and it continues here. Even cast newcomer Richard Gere praises the film's human touch. If you enjoyed the first film, then you'll enjoy revisiting the characters and picking up from where the first film left off.
The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is released into cinemas nationwide on the 26th of February.
