Wait. Did you know there was another Rocky movie coming out?
For some reason, the new film had skated by us like a lightweight boxing champion who’s quick on our feet. Or perhaps we have been ducking and diving the news as we cannot take another punch to the face with unnecessary sequels. So yes, there is going to be another film starring Rocky. But could it be a knock out film? Or is it going to take a hit?
Well here’s a brand new trailer. Creed, as the title suggests, focuses on Apollo Creed’s son and not the soft rock band (disappointingly). Apollo himself died in Rocky VI and has passed down the boxing bug to his son played by Michael B. Jordan. Stallone returns as the aging fighter who is going train the new creed.
I suspect this is going to be filled with montages and inaudible grunts. Though having Jordan at the centre of it isn’t going to harm your film but improve it by a massive amount. Plus the director is Ryan Coogler who directed Jordan in Fruitvale Station so we know that he can direct him. There will certainly be a lot of throwbacks to the original series.
Creed will be out next year.
