The latest clips from J.C Chandor’s crime thriller A Most Violent Year have been released and both clips showcase how eerie this couple, portrayed by Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain, are. Despite the fact they don’t show up together on screen in either of the clips, you gain the impression of this weird relationship they have we each other and how they seem to balance each other out. Even though only one clip is called “Respect”, both clips present each character’s idea of respect from how people perceive them to having control over someone else.
A Most Violent Year has a great cast ranging from Jessica Chastain to Albert Brooks, David Oyelowo to Alessandro Nivola. But the standout so far seems to be Oscar Isaac. It’s incredible how far Oscar has come from the days of the worst husband in the world in Drive, all the way up to becoming of the most respectable independent actors with Inside Llewyn Davis and even gaining a leading role in not just Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but X-Men Apocalypse too. But Oscar won’t let the bigger roles get to him; he still has it in his heart for the indie pictures, like A Most Violent Year. The film has gained some awards buzz for Oscar, Jessica and Chandor himself, and from these clips, could become a sleeper hit, just keep your eyes open for it.
