I'm starting to feel like there should be some sort of joke in the whole "bad things just keep happening" set up in Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day and the slew of trailers and clips that accompany its impending release. However, that's not really fair to this film since that's what most mainstream films seem to do nowadays, so I'd really just be using lazy writing for the sake of making a lame joke... speaking of which, here are some new clips for Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.
These clips centre around the crushing disasters that befall Alexander's older brother Anthony, played by Dylan Minnette. In the first of the two clips, Anthony takes his driving test, under the watchful eye of the always game Jennifer Coolidge. However, it looks like it's destined to fail because, for reasons of unbridled comedy hijinx (or lousy writing, whatever you want to call it), Coolidge's driving examiner really just wants the boy to fail and sort of, but not really, but kinda goads the boy into answering his phone during the test. Naturally, it all comes apart with a tedious inevitability.
The second clip sees Anthony try to reconcile with his girlfriend and get their plans for prom back on track. Though he's successful in his romantic endeavours, his celebrations unexpectedly cause a fair amount of destruction that you have to believe would be pretty much impossible to avoid in a school.
Watch the clips and get a pretty clear indication of the kind of film you're in for here and adjust your schedules accordingly.
