Homer Simpson was originally intended to be Krusty the Clown, hence their similar appearance. The original idea was for Bart Simpson to be a little brat, always getting on Homer’s nerves and with no respect for his father or the rules; the twist being that Bart idolised and respected Krusty the Clown, who would later be revealed as Homer, meaning the man Bart idolised was actually his father all along. The plot twist was abandoned because it was thought “Too Complex” for the average viewer and as a result, Herschel Krustofski was created.
McBain: The Movie!
Who doesn’t love Easter eggs? Here’s a brilliant one that was created completely by accident! McBain the movie, which appears throughout the early seasons of The Simpsons as clips, can be pieced together to form a coherent story, as the video below shows. Yet all of the clips were supposedly based on clichés of action films, which The Simpsons producers wanted to parody. The result is an actual mini movie for super fans to enjoy, completely by accident!

Why are The Simpsons Yellow? A question heard often, but very rarely addressed, so here’s the answer, nice and simple. No, it’s not widespread liver failure in Springfield, The Simpsons are yellow so when people channel hop, they would instantly know it’s The Simpsons from the flash of a yellow body on screen. In a way, it’s their signature brand, and it’s lasted through the years!
