Hello again, how are you?
Yes, we have returned with another podcast, a new host and the exact same inability to stay on topic as last time. Listen in as we briefly forget the medium we are broadcasting in and talk about:
What we’ve been doing
Graham has been watching series five of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and has also watched The Wolverine. It was better than Origins and X3, but still a completely unnecessary film. However, he’s thoroughly enjoying Buffy.
Matt is still watching Bones, Ray Donovan and Dexter. He’s also started watching Family Guy because he’s currently living with his brother (more on him later), and is looking forward to Saints Row IV, which comes out in the UK on the 23rd of August. (He keeps saying ten days, but that was when we recorded the show. He doesn’t quite understand the time delay).
Will has been re-watching The Mentalist in preparation for its final series. He’s also ordered the complete series of The Thick of It featuring a certain Peter Capaldi. Now if only I can remember why he’s been so big in the news recently… Will has also found his copy of Pokémon Sapphire and Gameboy Advance SP, so he’s been whiling away the time on that too. This gets us going on Nintendo and why they won’t release some of the earlier generations of Pokémon onto the app store. Short answer, they’re dicks.

News
Peter Capaldi has been officially announced as the twelfth/thirteenth Doctor, we don’t know which quite yet, though most people seem to say twelfth. I guess we’ll find out at Christmas. We also have a brief discussion with regards to everyone’s reactions and why some of the newer fans are complaining about it. Short answer? They’re dicks, too.
Do you have one million dollars just lying around? Why not spend it on the Super Dangerous Wad Wad edition of Saints Row IV? (again, apologies for Matt’s knowledge of time). This one of a kind version of the game includes; a full size replica of the Dubstep Gun, a space flight with Virgin Galactic, a Lamborghini Gallardo, and oh, so much more, that you may actually end up going as insane as the game itself is looking to be. Also included in the bundle is the Commander in Chief edition of the game itself. Otherwise it would just be pointless linking it to the game. We go on to talk about how awesome most of these things would be, also what would be the equivalent in price and would anyone be willing to buy us the edition and two extra tickets on the space flight?

Recently, three names have come to the fore for who shall be playing Batman in Superman/Batman the movie. Joe Manganiello, Ryan Gosling and Josh Brolin. We talk about who would be the best and all agree that Orlando Bloom is too effeminate to play Batman. Here’s the link to DM of the Rings (the webcomic I was talking about), if anyone’s interested.
Finally, we recently found out that Valve is working on Left 4 Dead 3, which will be released on the Source 2 engine, we talk about whether or not zombies are a played-out genre, why the Wii is not necessarily a good games console (we’re sorry Nintendo, we’re picking on you a lot this week) and then talk about how much of what was announced by Microsoft for the Xbox One has been changed since then.
Games
This week we announce the return of Matt to the games, we also are deeply disappointed by the fact that no one decided to comment on the previous podcast, leaving the previous Quote of the Week unsolved. The quote was “[He’s] like a candle in the wind. Unreliable". The answer was, Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace, Dean Lerner, Richard Ayoade. For this week Will gave us this quote;

The quote was “[He’s] like a candle in the wind. Unreliable". The answer was, Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace, Dean Lerner, Richard Ayoade. For this week Will gave us this quote;
“It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.”
“Hit it”
If you think you know, the film that quote came from, and the character and actor who said it, then let us know in the comments below.
We then move on to the Elevator Pitch, where we have thirty seconds to pitch a randomly generated movie title and are scored with the following criteria;
Green Light (the film gets made) - 3 points
Screen Test (let’s see how it looks) - 2 points
See the script (it’s got good ideas, but needs work) - 1 point
Don’t let the door hit you in the arse on the way out (self explanatory) - 0 points
Because Matt wasn’t around during the last show, he starts out at a disadvantage, but manages to pull it back. He also has the help of his brother, Bradley, to persuade Will into giving him an extra point. The overall total so far is as follows
Matt: 6 points
Will: 6 points
Graham: 5 points
We’ll continue with this next show and see how the points stack up after then, but before that we have to go through the Six Degrees of Separation.
This part of the show was an all round success, all three of us were able to link our actors up. You’ll have to listen into the show itself to find out how we do, but we’ve got to link the following for next time:
Will: Morgan Freeman - David Thewlis
Graham: Christoph Waltz - Alfred Hitchcock
Matt: Sarah Michelle Gellar - David Duchovny
Will we link them? Who knows…
Finally, there is the question of which of you can link Kevin Costner to David Tennant? Once again answers in the comments below.
And with that, we draw the show to conclusion. Let us know what you think of what we talked about in the comments, along with any answers, or actors for us to link. We look forward to hearing from you.
See you next time.
Intro music for the Podcast was composed by Michael Heron. You can hear him on Latitude Radio hosting Magic Pie along with Tom Keavney, with whom he also plays live music. The News and Game themes were by his brother Matt.
Outro music was composed by Rob Harman, find his music here, and his Facebook page here, check him out.
