I must have been about twelve when I first read about The Sims in a magazine, and instantly knew that this was something I wanted to play. When I finally got it I was instantly hooked. For many years I played only The Sims, and then only The Sims 2, and then only The Sims 3. Then I started branching out into other games, and the Sims franchise became less interesting to me, but The Sims was my gateway drug to gaming.

It happens more often than you think, especially with regards to the themes of parenthood and 'the son becoming the father' principle. Here are just some examples of how, if you consider all of the variables, these villains were in fact ultimately doing the right thing. Some might have We start with the first three on our list (in no particular order!). It should go without saying but SPOILERS AHOY!

When i was growing up as a young lad there wasn't all this fancy technology we have today, granted we had some technology but it wasn't much to brag about. I'm writing these articles to bring back some awesome memories of playing those games, because its always good to look back at those games that came before others and how things have evolved over the years.

Everybody loves something for free, and this month Playstation Plus is offering four great games to download. There might not be something that will cater to everybody's tastes, but what is on offer is certainly varied and definitely worthy of a look if you haven't played them already.

Well, I fear it's been quite some time since our last roundup and we're even a little late this time, but nevertheless we're back yet again with more gaming news.

Pretty much the only thing I've been playing for the past two weeks is the Handsome Collection - the Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel remasters for the PS4 and Xbox One. I love the Borderlands series. It's one of my all-time favourite game series and replaying them now just reaffirms that fact. Now, I know there are some of you out there who haven't played these games for whatever reason (shame on you) and if you need convincing, then have no fear!

When it comes to new game releases I am always weary about any plans for DLC; especially the notion of day one DLC which is unfair in every way, so when I heard about CD Projekt releasing sixteen pieces of DLC completely free for their upcoming title The Witcher III: Wild Hunt they immediately shot up to one of my favourite developers.

The year was 1999. Something was stirring. Something was happening. It was more than just a fad, this thing. More than just a craze. For kids all over the globe, life would never be the same again. Soon, we would all be living in the beating heart of a bonafide phenomenon. It would mean more to us than Pogs and yo-yos ever had. I speak, of course, about Pokémon. Looking back, the popularity of Pokémon seemed to be an almost overnight thing. It was like a pop culture meteor landed one day and the whole thing just exploded. One day there was no such thing as Pokémon, the next it had become the centre of my Universe.

There's no arguing that 2011's Deus EX: Human Revolution was a really well-made prequel/reboot of the Deus Ex franchise by Square Enix, reinvigorating the series with new life (as they later did with Tomb Raider in 2013) and stirring interest in a cyberpunk world split between two rival factions, those of normal humans and those of their augmented counterparts. Well, it's been nearly four years and Square Enix are finally wheeling out the license for another go, and this time it's coming for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Curiously, whilst its predecessor found a home on Wii U, its sequel will likely not be coming to Nintendo's latest console. |
