Frankly, it would be a travesty if we didn’t get to see Paquin’s Rogue in any form on the special features or director’s cut, considering we were initially promised that she would indeed be part of the full on cast - which was then reduced to a pitiful cameo – so to not include her on the Blu-Ray features would be sacrilege. Rogue’s scenes initially involved actor Ian McKellen’s Magneto and Patrick Stewart’s Professor X, in a subplot that revolved around the two latter mutants breaking Rogue out of a Sentinel guarded prison in order to help Wolverine stay in the past, but whether all of her scenes will be included in the Blu-Ray or DVD version (or that simply parts will make it onto the deleted scenes), is unknown. It appears we can only look forward to (most likely) around Christmas time, for Days of Future Past to be released and then revel or recoil as we peruse the features in search for our captivating Rogue.
After much trial and tribulation in regards to X-Men: Days of Future Past scenes being altered and characters being ‘cut’, it appears that audiences may finally get to see none other than Anna Paquin’s Rogue in (considerably more) action, in possibly some DVD/Blu-Ray features. While we have literally no idea why Paquin’s loveable Rogue was cut from a full cast member to a cameo in the first place, (and why Wolverine was even added into the plot, but I digress) it appears there is indeed a light at the end of the tunnel, as producer Lauren Shuler Donner hinted at on Twitter. Replying to a fan’s question about whether Rogue would feature in the director’s cut or extended cut on Blu-Ray, Donner tweeted “yes! Coming later this year”. This seems to suggest that Rogue fans may once again rejoice as we may actually get to see the character in her deserved place amongst the rest of the X-Men, when Days of Future Past hits home video.
