If you don’t like The Muppets than I think you are wrong and need to leave this planet with your felty tail between your legs. There has been mixed reactions from the announcement of Muppets Most Wanted. After the success of 2011’s film rejuvenated The Muppet fandom, it is only natural that they keep going with their cinematic outings. Previously, Robbie mentioned that he wasn’t looking forward to the sequel. But the more that comes out, the more we see, the more we can’t help but get ridiculous excited and lift our arms to do an excitable Kermit dance.
The movie sees The Muppets go on a world tour with celebrities such as Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey, Stanley Tucci and Christoph Waltz. When a criminal mastermind escapes from a high security prison, it just so happens he looks like everyone’s favourite frog Kermit. After the old switcheroo, Kermit finds himself on the bad end of the biggest case of stolen identity. Will his Muppet friends figure out the truth while he finds himself locked away from the road?
Walt Disney Studios released the ‘We’re Doing A Sequel’ trailer that is an epic musical number that encapsulates everything we know and love about The Muppets. Not only is it insanely catchy and enjoyable, that kind of addiction that will rival ‘Everything is Awesome’, but the song is highly tongue in cheek. Poking fun at their own adventures as well as the Hollywood machine that churns out crappy sequels for a buck.
With all their wit, their fun and their downright silliness, it looks like The Muppets are coming back in a tour de force. Especially because they have Ty Burrell onboard and boy, do we love Ty Burrell.
