Things however are looking up with Age of Extinction. This is fourth instalment in the franchise, even though Bay was adamant that he wasn’t going to make another film and it looks like he is taking this one seriously. There doesn’t appear to be any wise cracking, slightly racist comedy twins, or giant metallic testiculled robots in this first look trailer. What there does seem to be though is ACTION, and plenty of it.
With a whole new cast from the first three movies, Bay looks like he is trying win back the fans by giving them what they love about the Transformers, robots righting one another. Now this may seem like a very simple way of looking at the movies, but when Bay does it well the fights scenes in the previous movies have been brilliant set pieces. This offering features Mark Wahlberg and Nicola Peltz playing a father and daughter, so it will be nice to see a different family dynamic in this film and they feature alongside Stanley Tucci and Kelsey Grammer along with a whole host of others.
Whilst not much of the plot has been given away in this short trailer, it certainly builds up enough excitement to hopefully get viewers interested in the Transformers again. The main point seeming to be the short shot where Optimus Prime can be seen riding a huge Dinobot. I will just repeat that, OPTIMUS PRIME RIDING A DINOBOT!
I am already sold on this movie with just those brief few seconds
