Life After Beth is adorned with star-studded cast members; Anna Kendrick stars as Erica Wexler andMatthew Gray Gubler stars as Kyle Orfman, who we can see doesn’t take well to Beth in the trailer. If this wasn’t enough to attract your interest, John C. Reilly stars as Maury Slocum, Beth’s father, whilst Molly Shannon features as Geenie Slocum, with Paul Reiser and Cheryl Hines taking on the roles of Zach’s parents, Noah Orfman and Judy Orfman, respectively. With such a talented cast, one would hope the film can fully utilise the actors’ talents to great effect, in order to deliver a satisfying zom-com (zombie comedy) that doesn’t have us rushing for the door.
The new trailer does a splendid job in establishing the basic premise of the film, and the scene in which Plaza’s Beth is chained to an oven looks quite hilarious, so there’s some promise in this un-dead feature, and surely in the capable hands of director Jeff Baena, and supported by its talented cast, Life After Beth stands a chance at evoking enjoyment from its audiences.
Life After Beth will rise from the grave and stagger straight into cinemas in the USA on the 15th August (Limited release), with UK audiences getting to see the film on the 3rd October, later this year.
