The film, directed by Clint Eastwood, is based on the Tony Award-winning show (four Tony’s) of the same name. The story (which also happens to be true) revolves around New Jersey’s The Four Seasons, and how they go their start, their subsequent rise to fame, along with Frankie Valli’s popularity, and how they ended up going their separate ways. The Four Seasons had some huge hits, including “Sherry”, “Big Girls Don’t Cry”, “Walk Like a Man” and “Who Loves You”, amongst numerous others. The songs of The Four Seasons has now become popular again, thanks to the stage show exposing a new generation of fans to their story and songs. The show, a Tony Award-winning hit, has been on Broadway for over eight years and has several tours running not only in North America, but around the world as well.
Reprising his Tony Award-winning role as Frankie Vallie is John Lloyd Young. Erich Bergen will star as Bob Gaudio. Bo wrote or co-wrote all of the Four Season’s biggest hits. Nick Massi will be played by Michael Lomenda and Tommy DeVito is played by Vincent Piazza. Christopher Walken will also be appearing in the film as Gyp DeCarlo. Luckily, having actors that have previously played certain roles in the stage show transition to the upcoming film version will assist with consistency.
The film is due to be released on June 20, 2014.
