Catching Fire is the second film in The Hunger Games franchise. With the first film being such a big hit, it has a lot to live up to. However, with such great acting and directing talent, and an emotional but action-filled plot, I’m sure that they will go past the achievements of the first film and beyond. Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutchinson have great on-screen chemistry, and with Woody Harrison playing the hard yet hilarious Haymich Abernathy, what could go wrong?
The trailer sells the film extremely well. Although it does not give too much away, you still understand some of the key points in the film: that Katniss has to go back into the arena, the start of a rebellion and it’s rise, the beginning of a war throughout Panem, and what the Quarter Quell (a celebratory Hunger Games held every 25 years) will be like.
Just from these little snippets you can see just how well this film has been made. The special effects just on the outfits aflame are astounding and extremely realistic. The accompanying music starts of chilling and builds up into something that makes your chest feel like it could explode. The four key whistle at the end of the trailer is extremely potent and brings up feelings and emotions felt in the last film, as it is the whistle that Katniss and Rue used during the last Hunger Games, and this is repeated throughout the rebellion.
Needless to say we're extremely excited about this film.
