With great cinematic power comes great soundtrack responsibility. After all, it is the job of the composer to set the scene. A melancholy reflective scene needs sorrow with the tinkling of notes. A jovial moment has jaunty keys and uplifting strings that fill you with the utmost notes. And an epic battle sequence between an enemy and a bunch of rag-tag superheroes could see the most pulsating collection of guitar riffs and tunes that gets you as “Hulked” out as those on screen. With Avengers: Age of Ultron out today, let's have a look at the songs that captured the action hero movie and was inspired by it too.

Alongside the score album, a collection of metal and rock bands also released an epic soundtrack from and inspired by the film. The rock collection, I believe is just as powerful as the instrumental score. In it, bands from Soundgarden to Black Veiled Brides all join forces for a raucous and heavily pumped up soundtrack. In it, this ensemble truly capture both the earnestness, the emotion and the action of each of our heroes. Arguably, the set of songs could match the different characters; A New Way To Bleed by Evanesence could equally capture the toiling struggles with diverse elements of Bruce Banner and Natasha Romanoff. Even If I Could by Papa Roach is a defying battle that echoes sentiments in Loki’s subconscious. Unbroken and Comeback, respectively performed by the aforementioned Brides and Redlight King are fitting to Tony Stark and Steve Rodger’s past adventures and personal plights. Not to mention the released credit song by Soundgarden, Live to Rise, is a powerful testament to the assembly who battle adversity from an alien army and from one another. Not only do the songs on the rock album capture the characters but they also fit the intensity of Josh Whedon’s epic action piece and the furosity of the themes involved; War, sacrifice and determination all dripping from the electric guitars and thudding drum beat.

The new Marvel outing sees the pair lift off from Silverstri’s work and bring an exciting age of the score. The well timed and executed pieces that accompany the much darker elements of Ultron work as both a testament to the original scores and a gelling of two mastermind composers. Though a great drinking came could be procured from trying to tell the different, subtle differences in tone and pattern will be easily recognisable to score fans. All the while, this collaborative effort seems transforms the music into this spectacular soundtrack. We just really hope they release that cover of I've Got No Strings because that shit is intense.
Though there is no word on whether a similar rock soundtrack will be released, it’s safe to say that Avengers: Age of Ultron and it’s prior counterparts are all music for your collection.
