The clip opens as Bilbo and gang make their way through Mirkwood Forest and focuses on their efforts to cross a bridge that has been put out of commission; Thorin decides that Bilbo is the best to first traverse along a path of vines before the dwarves follow suit. This being Mirkwood Forest means that it doesn't go well, the band start to fall asleep and the clip ends with one of the dwarves (you'll have to forgive me, I'm not as well versed in all things Tolkien as I should be) dropping of to sleep in a rather precarious situation.
Like I said, the clip is a good taster of what is to come. There will be more footage, twenty five minutes worth being added, bumping up the run time to just over three hours. More footage will also hopefully mean more nods to the book if this clip is anything to go by and these are always a good thing in a movie adaptation. Apart from more footage, more general content is being added as well, an extra nine hours of new special features will now be included.
Hopefully, this feast of Hobbit related goodness can keep you satisfied until Battle of the Five Armies is out in cinemas.
