Shailene was attached to her hair, as are most of us, but for this role, she agreed to have it cut for this film and boy, does she rock that ‘do! She can be seen in the chair as her hair is chopped off, and she has said several times that she was almost crying as her trademark hair was handed to her by the hairdresser.
Woodley wears little to no makeup for her role as Hazel as they try to keep her characterisation as close to the book as possible. They even scrolled through fan art to discover how the audience saw her. As a person, Woodley seems to be a happy, energetic individual off screen whereas Hazel is more subdued as she contemplates what life she has been handed. A new scene is revealed in the form of Augustus commenting on the temperature of Hazel’s hands and it is these scenes that make me realise what a perfect choice Ansel Elgort is for Gus, as I had my doubts previously. The chemistry between the two, and his cheeky smile will make the film all that more enjoyable.
So it’s pretty safe to say that Woodley will be growing her hair back now that the film has wrapped and is due for release in June 2014.
