The Expendables are back ladies and gents, on their most personal and action packed mission yet. The golden oldies must recruit some younger faces in order to the up the ante in their fight against former expendables Mel Gibson, and the team is bigger than ever. Aside from the ridiculous action and cheesy one liners, the great thing about these movies is the comradery between the team members, and in this new featurette, the cast talk about working together in this sequel.
Wesley Snipes, in one of his first starring roles since being released from prison says of the third instalment “Is it gonna be bigger? Yeah, yeah, yeah”. Then Harrison Ford talks about the fame in this film, saying “icons, on top of icons, you’ve got a pile of icons. Congratulations!”. Randy Couture describes working the with the cast “Not taking each other too seriously but still kicking ass” and newcomer Glen Powell describes them as “genuine badasses”. Snipes talks about being part of the film as not only an actor but a fan too, saying “I’m a fan with a whole bunch of people in this movie”. Jason Statham sings praises for newcomer Ronda Rousey, calling her “a phenomenon” and says “There’s not been a girl that’s as tough as that and looks as hot as that”. The featurette ends as Ford and Gibson express their fondness for the film, with a short clip of the gang inside a helicopter and Arnold Schwarzenegger does his famous line “Get to da choppa!”, showing that these actors know how to have fun with their past work.
The featurette is littered with clips from the film, all of which promise an absolute thrill ride, and perhaps the action hit of the summer.
