Shorts on Tap is a fortnightly exploration of short film, shown in creative hub of Shoreditch at Cafe 1001. On behalf of I'm With Geek, I was fortunate enough to be invited to judge the recent theme of 'War'. A thought-provoking theme presented in a dynamic format.
Our night's format was four short films of varying lengths followed by intermission and three longer format short films. At intermission, Shorts on Tap had invited one of the doctors from MedAct to speak. It was fascinating to learn about a medical charity that sees warfare as one of the issues they face. Not only do you get a night of varied films, you're also invited to besocially aware.
There was a varied quality of films shown, but make no mistake, the film we all thought of as the best, Take Me to the Front, was exceptional. Director, Stefano Pietrocola, has crafted a tale of how the war-photographer sees and reacts to some of the brutality he captures. Set in war-torn Bosnia, this evocative piece looks at what it takes to get through the day. Currently touring the festival circuit, we are pleased to present the trailer:

It's a great night out and I hope I get to see you at the next event, next Tuesday, 14th October at Cafe 1001, celebrating LGBT themes.
