There’s nothing like a heart-warming film to brighten your day, and Common People is the perfect one for it.
Common People weaves together six stories of ordinary daily lives in London, changed forever as a prized parrot escapes from the confines of her cage and soars upon the South London skies. It is a dramatic, humorous and sometimes magical tale of romance, crisis and adventure on one of London’s leafy commons.
The film was directed and produced by Kerry Skinner and Stewart Alexander, the latter of whom also wrote the film. The cast include Sam Kelly, Diana Payan, Iarla McGowan, Joshua Herdman and Jeff Gash, and was produced Darin McLeod.
The film was made on a small budget (following previous issues on another film they had attempted to make which had budgeting issues), yet has become very popular, with the Picturehouse chain taking the film nationwide as part of their prestigious “Discover Tuesdays” programmer, a first for an entirely independent, self distributed British feature.
The film will screen at 17 cinemas nationwide on 10th June 2014, and will be released on VOD and DVD on 12th June.
Don’t miss your chance to see the bittersweet comic tale of love, loss and life in a London park that everyone has fallen in love with!
