Finally, with only two months to go until The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is released, we are given a poster of Katniss to keep our appetites sated.
Don’t get too excited though; it’s only of her back! It’s a very dark image with few contrasting colours as Katniss’ armour and dark hair blend into the background. Her signature bow and arrows are in the image, strapped across her back over what appear to be wings draping over her shoulders. The detail around the top of the arrows and the back of her neck are very much like chain-link armour, which indicates that things are going to be getting violent. She has the plait she is well known for and the only bits of her that stand out are the wings where the light shines on them. Is there any significance to this? Hmm…
The Mockingjay logo is at the bottom of the image with the date of the release of the film, because we’re really likely to forget that, aren’t we? As per usual, the poster gives away very little about the upcoming blockbuster, except that Katniss is in it (is anyone surprised at that?) and that she is the legendary Mockingjay. But what does this actually mean?
Katniss is suited up for a fight which means that whatever happens, the audience can be sure that there will be plenty of action filled scenes as Katniss fights a war that she helped to start. The question is, who are her friends, and who are her foes?
Katniss looks like a true heroine in the newest poster but we still can’t see her face! Still, there’s a lot to be said for an actress who can pull off such a heroic pose from the back and still impress the fans.
