Avengers
Aaron Taylor-Johnson, most know for his lead role in both Kickass films, has finally been confirmed as Quicksilver for Avengers: Age of Ultron. Rumours about his role in the film have been circulating for months having been thought to be Marvel’s first choice for the role, however there were questions as to whether the filming would clash with the filming of Godzilla, in which he will play Lieutenant Ford.
Filming will start early next year, and is set for release in May 2015.
London Has Fallen is the confirmed sequel to Olympus Has Fallen, with Gerard Butler, Morgan Freemen and Aaron Eckhart on the cast to continue their roles from the first film, and Katrin Benedikt and Creighton Rothenberger shall be writing the script.
Not too much has been revealed as of yet, but, as the title insinuates, London will be under threat, and only the American President and his secret service can save everyone (not sure how the British audience will take that.)
The film is planning to start filming next year.
ExpendaBelles
It has been revealed that Avi Lerner, producer of The Expendables, has been in talks with Diaz, Streep and Jovovich as to a female-action-filled reply to the previous male-orientated action film. Their credentials for an action film are great, Jovovich having starred in all of the Resident Evil films, Diaz in the Charlie’s Angels films and Streep in The River Wild.
The script has been written by Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith, and Lerner is looking for a female director but has, as of yet, had no luck on that front.
Two-time Oscar winner Oscar Waltz, most recently in Django Unchained and Inglorious Bastards, has been confirmed on the cast of Horrible Bosses 2, and is set to play the father of Chris Pine’s character (both un-named.)
Waltz and Pine will be working together in the film to steal an idea off of veteran cast members Charlie Day (Dale Arbus), Jason Bateman (Nick Hendricks) and Jason Sudeikis(Kurt Buckman.)
The film is set to be released in the US in November 2014.
