In the follow-up to the 2011 hit Rise of the Planet of the Apes, 20th Century Fox are pleased to release a new clip: "Apes Don’t Want War" in the run-up to the release of its sequel, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
The sequel sees Andy Serkis reprise his role as Caesar. The plot consists of a growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar who are threatened by a group of human survivors of the disturbing virus released a decade earlier. The finally reach peace, although it doesn’t stay peaceful for long, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
The new clip is just over a minute long, which showcases an intense meeting between the humans and the apes. With most of the running time creating tension, it is only broken at the end with Caesar sternly informing the humans that "Apes don’t want war" and slowly turning their backs on them.
From director Matt Reeves, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will also star Jason Clarke, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Gary Oldman, Kodi Smith-McPhee, Enrique Murciano and Kirk Acevedo.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is released in the UK on July 17th.
