It’s like one of my biggest literary dreams has come true – there is finally an actual, illustrated version of Harry Potter. To think that, now, there are actually pictures to go along with the story takes the “magic” of the books that much higher!
Four illustrations have been released so far. One is of Hagrid in the hut on the rock when he first goes to fetch Harry. There is another of Hermione casting a spell. The third image is more of a sketch of Ron. The final image is of what appears to be Draco being measured for his first year robes in Diagon Alley. The illustrations that we’ve been treated to so far are absolutely stunning. The amount of detail in them is brilliant. You may want to take some time to yourself and study each image!
The first book to be illustrated, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, will be published on the 6th of October, 2015. It will be published in both the U.K. and the U.S. on the same date. What makes this even more special is that every single image is approved by J. K. Rowling herself. The remaining books will be published annually. This Potter fan is excited!
