It seems Halloween has started early this year, and that’s all thanks to J. K. Rowling. Announced on the morning of October 24th on Pottermore, it was confirmed to fans that Rowling would be releasing a new story about a certain baddie from the hit series.
It seems Halloween has started early this year, and that’s all thanks to J. K. Rowling. Announced on the morning of October 24th on Pottermore, it was confirmed to fans that Rowling would be releasing a new story about a certain baddie from the hit series.
A statement on the Pottermore website tempted fans with the news of a short story about none other than Dolores Umbridge, former (and temporary) headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. There was also a mention in the statement that apart from Voldemort, Umbridge is the only person to have left a permanent physical scar on someone. The statement promised a 1700 word story, telling of Dolores’ background and her life. The story would also include J. K.’s own personal thoughts and reflections on the character of Umbridge.
Earlier in the year, J. K. Rowling released a short story about the Golden Trio in their adult lives. Uploaded in July, it marked the first time that she had written about them since the epilogue of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It described Harry in his 30’s, with greying hair, attending the final of the Quidditch World Cup.
